I believe the future belongs to all generations — equally.

The most meaningful progress happens when we pass the baton across ages with empathy and intention. For over two decades, I’ve dedicated my work to helping organizations unlock the power of generational diversity — turning differences into collaboration, trust, and performance.

How It All Began

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a focus on Journalism, News, and Public Affairs—drawn to understanding what drives people and how messages shape society.

My early career in advertising, public relations, and corporate communications deepened my fascination with human behavior, storytelling, and what it truly takes to build trust across different mindsets and cultures.

It was during this time that I realized how often hierarchy and fear silenced fresh ideas—and how much potential was lost in the process.

That realization became the spark behind my lifelong mission: to build workplaces where every voice, regardless of age or title, is heard and valued.

Later, I joined CFN-CNBC as a journalist and news anchor, honing my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, connect with diverse audiences, and tell stories that move people to think, feel, and act.

Those years on-air taught me that the most powerful messages aren’t those that speak the loudest — but those that speak to people, not at them.

That philosophy continues to guide my work today: translating insights across generations, industries, and cultures to drive understanding and change.

Pioneering the field of Employer Branding — long before it became mainstream.

The Rise of Employer Branding

That mission led me to the emerging field of Employer Branding — a discipline I helped shape long before it became mainstream.

At Universum, I worked with organizations across America, Europe, and Asia to understand how talent perception shapes engagement, culture, and performance.

At the heart of that movement were Millennials — whose voices I helped amplify as they challenged outdated leadership models and redefined the social contract at work.

Over time, I began to notice a deeper tension — miscommunication and missed opportunity between age groups that simply didn’t see the world the same way.

That realization reshaped everything for me. It revealed a pattern that transcended generations: a shared human desire for purpose, respect, and inclusion — often muted by speaking different “languages.”

And it became my purpose to help organizations harness generational diversity to drive innovation, inclusion, and sustainable growth.

Facilitating real conversations that turn generational insights into action — helping leaders and teams build cultures where collaboration flows across ages.

Through XYZ@Work

XYZ@Work - The Generational Strategy Platform

Through XYZ@Work I bring this purpose to life — partnering with organizations worldwide to decode, bridge, activate, and embed cross-generational collaboration.

My work sits at the intersection of leadership, inclusion, and strategy — helping companies move beyond awareness to action.

From keynotes and leadership programs to research, advisory, and cultural transformation, I design experiences that make inclusion tangible and collaboration instinctive.

I’ve had the privilege of advising Fortune 500 companies, governments, NGOs, and universities across Europe, the U.S., Asia, and Africa — supporting leaders as they rethink how they lead, learn, and collaborate across generations.

My book, Reframing Generational Stereotypes, expands on that mission by unpacking the forces that shaped Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z — giving leaders practical tools to foster trust, purpose, and performance across ages.

Empowering leaders to bridge generations through insight, empathy, and action.

I also lecture for Duke Executive Education and Emeritus, working with leaders who want to strengthen their impact across generations.

And through collaborations with universities such as USI – Università della Svizzera italiana and others, I’m reminded how energizing it is to engage with the next generation — their curiosity, courage, and empathy continue to inspire me every time.

With students at USI — exploring how the next generation is shaping and shaking up the multigenerational workforce.

At the heart of it all is my belief that generational differences aren’t obstacles — they’re our greatest strength

When we learn to understand each other’s context, we unlock empathy. When empathy turns into action, collaboration follows. And when collaboration becomes culture — that’s when organizations truly thrive.

For the full story behind my journey — from journalism and TV to becoming a global advocate for Generational Diversity — listen to my conversation with Ani Filipova on the Change is Possible Podcast.

Collaboration is both a human imperative and a business advantage.

What breaks my heart is that generations still work in silos — trapped by outdated systems and assumptions.

The young generations enter the workforce with a fierce drive for purpose and impact, only to find themselves disillusioned by structures too slow to change.

That Millennials, once disruptors, now carry the weight of compromise in systems they hoped to transform. That Boomers and Gen X hold wisdom that too often goes untapped.

We owe each other more.

My vision is a world where Generational Diversity isn’t a problem to solve but a superpower to unlock — where we build workplaces and societies where generations meet as equals: to challenge, learn from, and uplift one another.

Where purpose isn’t something we find alone, but something we build together.

Inspired by my three little Gen Alphas — who remind me every day why shaping
a more inclusive, understanding world matters.

My work is deeply personal.

I’ve navigated storms that reshaped how I see strength, purpose, and possibility — among them, a journey through breast cancer that became not a story of survival, but of transformation.

That journey taught me that beauty is found in presence — in how we keep showing up for ourselves, for others, and for what truly matters, even when life tests our limits.

That same philosophy lies at the core of my work: the belief that transformation, whether personal or organizational, doesn’t begin with change — it begins with understanding.

Because the courage to face our differences with empathy is the same courage that drives growth, collaboration, and innovation.

Every challenge, whether personal or professional, offers us a choice: to resist what’s unfamiliar or to transform through it.

I chose transformation — and that choice fuels everything I do.

Celebrating collaboration and shared purpose — where generations come together to grow

What I stand for

At my core, I’m a bridge between generations — carrying forward their stories, revealing their shared truths, and reminding us that what defines each generation is not opposition, but context.

Because generational progress isn’t a race — it’s a relay.

And when we pass the baton with empathy and intention, we create a future greater than any one generation could build alone.

My life, much like my work, is built on bridges — between countries, generations, and perspectives.

Raised in Italy, educated in the U.S., and having called Asia home for over a decade, I’ve learned that understanding grows where curiosity leads.

As a Gen Xer married to a Millennial and mother of three, I live what I teach: that the most powerful connections are born when we listen across experience, not age.

This is the heart of my work — helping every generation feel seen, valued, and #GenProud.

Let’s keep the conversation going through #AskRachele.

Empowering each other across ages, experiences, and perspectives — and committing to that every day — is how we build the future.

The best way forward is through intergenerational collaboration — young generations inspiring the older ones, and older generations empowering the young.

Together, we can build a future shaped by understanding, respect, and shared purpose.

At the St. Gallen Symposium, I signed the New Generational Contract — joining a global commitment to strengthen intergenerational understanding, fairness, and collaboration.

I've been privileged to work with extraordinary people and organisations — each shaping my journey as much as I've shaped theirs.

Here’s what some of them have shared about our work together:

— Sarina Moremi, Duke Corporate Education

The best way for us to succeed is through intergenerational collaboration — younger generations enabling the older ones, and older generations empowering the young.

Today's multigenerational world gives us the chance to rewrite history — to drive positive change by supporting one another, across ages, experiences, and perspectives.

Together we can build the future our world truly needs.
